Skandha Media Services Welcomes Mithun Panchal as Head of Technology

Mumbai, India – AUGUST 06,2025 – In a move that further strengthens its leadership bench, Skandha Media Services has appointed Mithun Panchal as its new Head of Technology. With over two decades of experience across IPTV, OTT, DTH and global broadcast ecosystems, Mithun joins Skandha at a defining moment in its growth story.

Mithun began his career at Reliance Communications, where he played a vital role in launching one of India’s largest DTH platforms BigTV managing the entire backend infrastructure. From there, he went on to work with leading IT firms on IPTV projects across Europe, Africa, and Eastern Europe, often onsite as a Solutions Architect.

Over the years, his portfolio has expanded far beyond traditional broadcasting. At Hungama, Mithun spearheaded the design and development of cutting-edge music apps for Connected TVs (CTVs) and In-Car Entertainment (ICE) systems, revolutionizing user experiences and setting new standards in digital entertainment. At Akamai Technologies, he served as Senior Engagement Manager, playing a pivotal role in managing high-scale streaming projects for top-tier OTT platforms in India, especially during peak events with massive concurrent user loads. He played a crucial role in transforming the live and VOD streaming experience on the SonyLIV OTT platform, driving significant advancements that elevated both user engagement and content delivery.

For the past four years, Mithun served as the Product and Technology Leader at Lionsgate Play India, orchestrating the full lifecycle of its  OTT platform. He led critical partner integrations and content delivery workflows, effectively bridging creative vision with technological execution
